What are RS Hire Machinery Ltd opening times?

Our team is available to respond to phone calls, emails, and online chat Monday to Friday, from 06:30am to 16:30 (excluding Bank Holidays). We are also open on Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00. The RS Hire Machinery online portal is available 24/7, 365 days a year, so you can browse and submit enquiries at any time.

Are the prices on your website inclusive of VAT?

All prices displayed on our website are net prices and exclude VAT. A 20% VAT charge will be added to the final invoice total. If you need a full breakdown of costs including VAT, please contact our team — we’re happy to help.

Do you sell new or used machinery?

We specialise in quality used construction machinery from leading brands such as Kubota, JCB, Takeuchi, Bomag, Manitou and more. Occasionally, we may also have nearly-new or ex-demo machines available.

What payment methods do you accept for purchases?

We accept bank transfer as the main payment method, but you can also pay by card in our office (Visa and Mastercard only – we do not accept American Express). Payments via PayPal are possible, though additional charges apply. For UK customers, we can also arrange finance through our trusted partners.

Can I pay by instalments or financing?

Yes – we work with finance companies and brokers to offer hire purchase or leasing solutions for qualifying customers. Please note that the interest rate depends on your business profile. In general, you need to pay a 10% net deposit plus full VAT upfront, with the balance spread over 36 or 48 months.

Do you provide after-sales service or support?

Yes – we provide service, parts and advice. We offer service plans after purchase and operate 3 fully equipped mobile service vans. Our workshop team can maintain machines and supply spare parts to keep your equipment running. We also provide a 30-day standard warranty on major components: hydraulic pump, drive motor, swing pump, axles and engine. Please note: fuel issues, injectors and hydraulic hose leaks are not covered.

What warranty comes with the machine?

All machines come with a 30-day standard warranty covering major components: hydraulic pump, drive motor, swing pump, axles and engine. Fuel-related issues, injectors and hydraulic hose leaks are excluded.

Can you arrange delivery to my location (UK / overseas)?

Yes – we regularly deliver machines throughout the UK and worldwide. We can arrange low-loader transport, container loading or Ro-Ro shipping depending on your needs.

What are the delivery costs and lead times for export orders?

Delivery costs depend on machine size, shipping method and destination. We provide competitive transport quotes. Typical lead times are: Next-day delivery within the UK 3–21 days within Europe 3–6 weeks for overseas destinations

Are VAT and duties included in the price / how are they handled for export?

UK customers: all prices are subject to VAT unless otherwise stated. Export customers: sales can be made VAT-free if valid export documents are provided. Import duties are the buyer’s responsibility.

What export documentation do you provide?

We can supply invoices, export declarations, EUR1 certificates, certificates of origin (CE), CMR waybills and other documents required for customs clearance. Some customers request a TER certificate or HPI check, which are available on request.

Do you assist with customs clearance?

Yes – we can help arrange export documentation and liaise with shipping agents. The buyer is responsible for import clearance in the destination country. We have cooperated with SMART EU SHIPPING (www.smarteushipping.com) for many years and highly recommend them for smooth transactions.

What condition are the machines in (hours, service history, maintenance)?

Each machine is listed with working hours, photos and video. Machines are inspected and prepared before sale to ensure they are ready to work. You are welcome to visit us at our Biggleswade depot (SG18 8YL) to inspect personally, or request additional videos.

Can I inspect the machine before purchase?

Absolutely – we welcome inspections at our Biggleswade depot. You can view and test the machine, or request a video demonstration if visiting is not possible.

What is your return policy / what happens if the machine has faults on arrival?

We are confident in the quality of our machines. In the rare case of issues, please contact us immediately. Returns or remedies depend on the terms agreed at the time of sale.

Do you offer part exchange / trade-in of old equipment?

Yes – we are happy to consider part exchange against machines purchased from us. Please send details and photos of your equipment to info@rsmachinery.eu for a valuation.

Are there any extra fees (loading, shipping, insurance) not included in the quoted price?

Our machine prices are ex-yard Biggleswade unless otherwise stated. Additional services such as loading and dismantling are always free, while shipping, insurance and customs fees are quoted separately.
